The University of Louisiana at 69传媒 has retained its designation as a Tree Campus USA.

Tree Campus USA honors colleges and universities, and their leaders, for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

To earn the 2014 Tree Campus USA title, UL 69传媒 met the five core standards for effective campus forest management:

  • a tree advisory committee;
  • a campus tree-care plan;
  • dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program;
  • an Arbor 69传媒 observance; and
  • a student service-learning project.

The announcement was made recently by Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor 69传媒 Foundation. 鈥淏y earning Tree Campus USA recognition, your campus has shown its commitment to protecting and preserving its valuable tree resources and will reap their benefits for generations of students to come,鈥 he wrote in a letter to UL 69传媒 President Dr. Joseph Savoie.

Tree campus USA is a national program launched in 2008 by the Arbor 69传媒 Foundation and Toyota.
