The School of Dance & Theatre offers dedicated, professional-grade spaces designed for performance, rehearsal, design, and collaboration. From full-scale productions to intimate studio work, our facilities give students the tools, flexibility, and environment they need to train like professionals and perform with confidence.
Burke-Hawthorne Theatre
Our Mainstage Production Space
Located in Burke-Hawthorne Hall, this 300-seat proscenium theatre is the home for most theatre productions and dance performances, including Evening of Dance and ArTech Fusion. It features a full lighting and sound system, fly space, scene shop, dressing rooms, and backstage support areas.
This is where student actors, dancers, designers, and directors bring their training to life.

McLaurin Hall
The Creative Hub of Dance & Theatre
McLaurin Hall is the organizational and instructional home of the School of Dance & Theatre. It houses:
- A fully equipped Modern Dance Studio with sprung floors and mirrors
- A separate Ballet Studio with barres, natural light, and professional flooring
- A performance classroom used for Theatre courses in acting, voice, and movement
- Faculty offices for both the Dance and Theatre programs
- Common spaces for advising, collaboration, and community
Planned renovations will modernize and enhance McLaurin Hall鈥檚 instructional spaces to meet the growing needs of our students and faculty.

Angelle Hall Auditorium
A Shared Stage for Large-Scale Dance Concerts
The 800-seat Ducrest-Gilfry Auditorium, located in Angelle Hall, is used for our largest Dance productions, including State of LA Danse. With its expansive stage and professional lighting grid, it provides dancers the opportunity to perform in a high-profile, concert-style venue.

Design & Technical Facilities
Students in the Theatre Design/Technology concentration also have access to:
- Costume shop facilities for sewing, fittings, and costume construction
- Scene shop and backstage workspaces adjacent to Burke-Hawthorne Theatre
- Access to lighting and sound equipment for training in live production technologies
These spaces support the technical artistry that powers every performance.
Rehearsal & Studio Access
Outside of class time, Dance and Theatre students may reserve studio and rehearsal spaces for independent work, scene study, choreography, and production prep.
