Founded in 2012 by Dr. William Plummer, the UL 69´«Ã½ Chamber Singers is a premier 32-voice ensemble that brings together talented singers from across campus, regardless of major or degree path. Known for musical excellence, the group has performed internationally, collaborated with professional orchestras, and premiered works by composers from around the world.
Recent highlights include:
Gold Award and top score at the International Choral Festival Wales
Grand Prix winner at the Michelangelo International Music Festival in Italy
Semi-finalist in the Petrichor International Music Competition, joining only two collegiate choirs worldwide with this recognition
2nd place nationwide in the American Prize for Virtual Performance (College Division)
As recognized Petrichor Recording Artists, the Chamber Singers have earned international acclaim while giving students unforgettable musical experiences.
The ensemble performs 4–6 times per year, including a recruitment tour. Auditions are open to students of all academic backgrounds, and scholarships are available for qualified incoming students. Strong music reading skills and a commitment to outside preparation are expected.
